One of the most common questions we receive from those who want to use LVI is whether they can segment by company size. Imagine you want to contact Directors, Managers, Heads and Human Resources Managers, but you only want them to be from medium or large sized companies. Is this possible?
Yes, as long as you have Sales Navigator. To be clear: to use LVI you don’t need Sales Navigator, but if you want to segment by company size it is the only way, since Linkedin only allows you to filter people based on the size of the company they work for if you have SN. This is not a limitation of LVI but of Linkedin.
If you have already contracted Sales Navigator, using Sales Navigator + LVI you will be able to automate the search, contact and follow up using the same filters provided by SN under “employees in the company”:
This means that if you want to contact Directors, Managers, Heads and Area Managers who also belong to medium and large companies, you can perfectly well ask LVI for example to contact only people who meet these conditions and also belong to companies with more than 50 employees.
The ranks available on Linkedin are:
- 1 to 10 employees
- 11 to 50 employees
- 51 to 200 employees
- 201 to 500 employees
- 501 to 1,000 employees
- 1,001 to 5,000 employees
- 5,001 to 10,000 employees
- More than 10,000 employees
As a suggestion, you should always include at least 3 ranks so that your LVI has enough contacts to contact.
Finally, remember that Sales Navigator and LVI are two different tools:
- Sales Navigator is one of the premium versions of Linkedin, what it does is expand your search limits so you can contact more people, give you the company size filter and some extra features, but Sales Navigator does not automate anything. Even with Sales Navigator you will have to do all the manual work.
- LVI is a tool that you can use with or without Sales Navigator, which completely automates the prospecting work so that instead of having to do the manual work you can focus on other tasks while the tool takes care of finding, contacting and following the people with the positions or in the areas and countries you need.
